Tagging with Wordpress – tagging console not available
The latest release of the Windows Live Writer 2008 supports tagging with Wordpress 2.3.1. Tobbi explained it in this post.
In some cases, the tagging console is not available, even with Wordpress 2.3.1. To solve this problem you have to add a simple code line between <head> and </head> in your Wordpress theme.
<link rel=”wlwmanifest” type=”application/wlwmanifest+xml” href=”http://www.domain.com/wp-includes/wlwmanifest.xml” />
After this little step the tagging console will be available in the Windows Live Writer 2008

Put your Adsense code where you want
The Adsense Coder Plugin let you put your Adsense code where you want within your blog post. Unfortunately you have to switch to the HTML View (Shift + F11) and put your code outside of a paragraph tag (<p>….</p>) to avoid conflicts with the paragraph which the plugin creates.

Windows Live Writer Backup Utility v2
The Windows Live Writer Backup Utility has been updated there are no new functions, but now it is fully compatible with the Windows Live Writer Beta 3.
Well the main things that have been sorted are the new directory path for Live Writer.
If you had beta 2 and upgraded to beta 3, the plugins stayed in the beta 2 plugins folder, doing a backup now will put them all into the one folder when you restore.
Older backup files (pre-beta 3), will still work. If you had settings from beta 2 backed up, they will get migrated across for beta 3.
If a plugin developer chooses to use the PluginAssemblies method of deployment (like me), those plugins and associated files will get backed up and restored OK.

The software release will offer PC users the option of downloading a set of the services with a single Unified Installer program, or as separate components.
